Tuesday, September | Tuesday, September 12th, at 10:30 am Dale Hymas will be teaching “Utilizing FamilySearch Memories”. After retirement, Dale discovered family history and the vast technology that is available. He has a great logical mind to understand computer software, so FamilySearch came easy to him. Dale has been a great teacher of the new things available on FamilySearch. As a consultant, we have relied on his help, teaching our consultants how to better serve you. Do you want to better understand all the things you can do with memories and what is available? Dale will take you step by step in how to organize and use all the tools available with memories on FamilySearch. | ||
Wednesday, September | Wednesday, September 13th, at 1pm Ann Jones will be teaching “DNA Made Easy.” Do you have trouble understanding the science behind DNA testing? Come and hear Anna Jones' story of what she learned from her DNA without using all the technical science terms that are hard to understand. She will show you the knowledge she gained from her DNA and how it can help you find ancestors. | ||
Thursday, September | Thursday, September 14th, at 7 pm Craig Bullough will be teaching, in the classroom, “New Developments with Ancestry.” Over the last 10 years, Craig has worked with Ancestry in content acquisition. His role involves negotiating contracts with organizations to allow Ancestry to acquire or digitize and publish family history records such as vitals, church, military, employment, prison, immigration, citizenship, and yearbooks, etc. Come and learn the vast amount of content that continues to grow in a searchable and digital format that enables everyone to make new discoveries in family history research. | ||
Thursday, September | Thursday, September 14th, at 7 pm Shelly Strand will be teaching “Reaching Your Family” in the computer room. This is a hands-on class. It will not be zoomed. Shelly will share resources to assist you in your search for family records. Shelly just finished her bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Family History Research. This week, we will focus on using FamilySearch’s Record Finder. Learn about this tool that directs you to records, types and collections that could have the information that answers your research questions. | ||
Saturday, September | Saturday, September 16th, at 10:30 am Glenn Whicker will be teaching “Google Photos.” Glenn is over the technology equipment at our center. He keeps our digitizing equipment running to help you digitize all your memories. Do you have a lot of photos and need to learn how to organize them? Glenn will show you all the wonderful tools available on Google to help you organize those photos. | ||
