Brief History[edit | edit source]

The 115th Regiment, Ohio Infantry was organized at Camp Massillon, Ohio, and mustered in September 18, 1862. It was at Tullahoma, Tennessee, in June, 1865, and mustered out June 23, 1865.[1]

The Wikipedia article on the 115th Ohio Infantry includes a short history of the battles fought by this regiment, movements, and source information.

Companies in this Regiment with Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]

Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived, though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
