The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library's genealogy and local history department is known as the Grosvenor [pronounced GROVE-ner] Room. It has a large amount of material that can assist your in your search for ancestors from Buffalo, Erie County, and Western New York. The Heritage Room

As a service to their patrons doing genealogical research, the Grosvenor Room has an extensive card file called the Local History File, with thousands of newspaper citations. Most date from the 1930s to the 1980s.

The Grosvenor [pronounced GROVE-ner] Room is the premiere genealogical destination in Western New York and holds a wealth of information on all things Buffalo and Erie County.
