Azerbaijani is the only official language in Azerbaijan and is spoken by the majority of its population, however, a number of minority languages also exist in the country. The largest minority languages are: [1]

Lezgian - Spoken in Northern Azerbaijan [2]
Talysh - Spoken in Southern Azerbaijan [3]
Avar - Spoken North-western Azerbaijan [4]
Russian - A lingua franca of Azerbaijan (a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different) [5]
Tat - An endangered language [6]
