The regiment was composed of men from all parts of Connecticut, but the companies were credited to towns as follows:

Company A - Litchfield County

Company B - Salisbury County

Company C - Goshen County

Company D - Plymouth County

Company E - Winsted County

Company F - New Hartford County

Company G - Cornwall County

Company H - New Milford County

Company I - Woodbury County

Company K - Made up from recruits from 25 different towns
