Yucatán Archives and Libraries: Difference between revisions

:In the Great Museum of the Mayan World, the visiting public will find a dynamic and interactive museography, designed to understand, live and feel the archeology, anthropology, ethnology, history and customs of the land of the Mayan. It is the first in the country to make reviews of the exhibition available in three languages: Mayan, Spanish and English, in addition to having guides in a specific language and immersion rooms.

:The former premises of the Korean Association, has been conditioned so that visitors can take a tour from the first news about this immigration, through the participation of Koreans in the henequen boom, the formation of associations, their naturalization as Mexicans, the merger and exchange with Mexican society, some samples of the historical promotion of Korean immigration to Yucatan until reaching the most recent activities such as the visits of the Korean Government Ambassadors to Mérida, the activities of the current Association and the celebration of the centennial of Korean immigration to Mexico.

:In its four permanent rooms it exhibits collections of pre-Hispanic Mayan, colonial, and contemporary pieces and objects.

:The permanent exhibition spans from pre-Hispanic times to the 20th century. The cultural development of the Mayan people, its continuity and significance in fields such as plastic arts, architecture, language, clothing, religion, social customs, economic processes, science and techniques are disseminated.  The collection is made up of archaeological, historical and ethnographic materials, with objects of daily and ritual use, such as ceramics, carved stone, stelae, civil and religious sculptures, textiles and clothing.
