A copy or an extract of most original records can be purchased from the [http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w/Vermont.htm Vermont Vital Records State Department of Health] for records for the last five years, Vermont General Service Center since 1857 or the Town Clerk's office where the event occurred for early records through current time
