Purpose[edit | edit source]
The purpose of this Society is threefold:
- to educate by creating, fostering, and maintaining interest in genealogy;
- to support the genealogy section of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in Dallas, Texas; and

Education[edit | edit source]
- Monthly meetings provide quality genealogical speakers on a range of topics. These meetings are open to the general public.
- All-day educational seminars are offered three times each year. These typically feature nationally recognized genealogical speakers.
- An online archive includes quarterly and annual Society journals published since 1957.
Support[edit | edit source]
- The society raises funds for the acquisition of materials for the Genealogy Section of the Central Dallas Library.
- Society members staff a help desk in the Genealogy Section of the library.
Preservation[edit | edit source]
- Society members have collected records of significance to Dallas County.
