Purpose of Research Tips and Strategies Wiki Page
The Thailand Research Tips and Strategies page consists of links to specific research strategies for Thailand. It also contains general tips and other resources for finding your ancestors in this locality.

How to Find Thai Ancestors? (English)[edit | edit source]

The genealogical records of Thailand will make the descendants aware that who they were! and where their ancestors come from!. These records are valuable and should be preserved for the purpose of the researching of their generations. The records of the Thai deceased people are stored in the following sources;

The death certificate, stored in the Government agencies.
The records are made by each family and stored in their family.
Recorded in the books, found in libraries such as; Public Library, University Library.
Public encyclopedias such as Wikipedia or to search in the search engines of Google.
Family Tree database <https://www.familysearch.org/tree/find/name>

The records that people can use to do researching their ancestors in the section 3 and 4 (from above), most of these are records of the lineage of leaders in Thailand or the Thai famous people in the past. Nonetheless, those ancestors might be early genus of some surnames in Thailand. Therefore, efforts have been made to compile records of those people stored in the same place in the Family Tree <https://familysearch.org/tree/> so that descendants can find their ancestors more easily and they can work together to connect their families together into the one tree.
