:The Aracy Paraguaçu Municipal Museum was created in 1993, through the initiative of Professor Regina Lucirene Macedo de Oliveira, daughter of traditional families of Itaituba, who had the privilege to record and save through photos, books, newspapers and documents, the steps of this municipality, which had the honor and glory of being the largest in the world in territorial extension.  Aracy Paraguassú kept and left a large cultural collection for her family, with relics of immeasurable value to the memory of the municipality of Itaituba.

:It has a diverse collection that corresponds to the areas of Anthropology, Ethnography, Archivology, Visual Arts, Natural Sciences, Natural History and History. Its entire collection shows a high level of deterioration and needs urgent action.  

:The museum of the Federal University of Pará was created in the 80's to identify, disseminate, preserve and enhance the regional and national artistic production. The building chosen to host it showed a rare attention to the eclectic architecture that had emerged in the Amazon as one of the most important consequences of the so-called rubber cycle.

:Housed in the Lauro Sodré Palace, it has a diversity of collections made up of canvases, furniture, interior accessories, photographs, among other assets that include the building itself, testimonies of different contexts in the history of Pará.
