British Empire Colonization (1868-1966)[edit | edit source]
Lesotho, formerly know as Basutoland, was controlled by the British Empire from 1866-1966. After Basutoland gained its independence in 1966, the country's name was changed to the Kingdom of Lesotho. [1]
