On Image 345 of 1505, there is a note that translates as follows: “The present register is a supplemental register to the birth acts of the Comune of Calvello in the same year . . . “. In addition, Image 339 of 1505 is the start of a second supplemental volume of births for 1869. We are not aware why the main register for 1869 was not available for microfilming. However, civil registrations in Italy are always kept in duplicate copy – one copy stays at the Comune level, and the other copy is transmitted to the Tribunale level or courthouse, later to be sent to the State Archive. Possibly you can contact the Comune of Calvello to see whether they have a copy of the original birth registers for 1869.<br>
