Adress books for Schleswig-Holstein started with the implementation of the Prussian government. In 1869 the first of such an index was issued for Schleswig-Holstein as well as the Fürstentum Lübeck. It was organized according to postal delivery districts

It was organized according to postal delivery districts with cities and villages as well as businesses in alphabetical order.
