Usage[edit source]
{{PD}} is a generic Wiki template for works in the public domain. Where possible, prefer more specific public domain (PD) templates such as:
- {{PD-Art}} for recent photographs of 2-dimensional works of art in the public domain
- {{PD-author}} for works released into the public domain by another author
- {{PD-ineligible}} for works ineligible for copyright
- {{PD-old}} copyright expired because author died more than 70 year ago
- {{PD-old-100}} copyright expired because author died more than 100 year ago
- {{PD-self}} for works placed in public domain by the author himself
- {{PD-US}} in the public domain in the United States because published prior to 1923
- {{PD-USGov}} public domain because it was created by a government entity
- {{PD-USGov-Atlas}} PD because it is in the government National Atlas
- {{PD-USGov-Interior-HABS}} government created by Historic American Buildings Survey
- {{PD-USGov-NPS}} PD because created by National Park Service employee
- {{PD-USGov-USDA}} PD because created by U.S. Dept. of Agriculture employee
