The FamilySearch Standards and Authorities team has assigned a unique digital code to a wide variety of places associated to jurisdictions from all over the world. These codes help to organize and integrate locality identification between FamilySearch databases. 

The parish identification number is a unique i.d. number that is assigned to locality known as a "parish" which is primarily associated to a religious congregation, usually with a specific geographic boundary.
