This Unit was organized at Davenport December 10, 1861, to March, 1862. They mustered out July 19, 1865.[1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
Company A - enrolled in Clinton County
Company B - enrolled in Scott County
Company C - enrolled in Muscatine County
Company D - enrolled in Boone County etc.
Company E - enrolled in Scott County
Company F - enrolled in Scott County etc.
Company G - enrolled in Dubuque County
Company H - enrolled in Dubuque County
Company I - enrolled in Linn County, Benton County &c.
Company K - enrolled in Lee County, Boone County, Scott County, Polk County, etc.
