The 2nd Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry was organized at Camp Joe Holt, under Col. Buckner Board and mustered into the United States service on the 9th day of september, 1861. In the fight of Stone River the regiment received special mention from General Rousseau, commanding the Division, for gallant and daring bravery. [1]
