The 1st Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry was organized at Camp Scott, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and mustered in October 19, 1861. The non-Veterans were ordered to Nashville, Tennessee, September 21. The Veterans and Recruits were transferred to the 21st Wisconsin Infantry. Brief History

The 1st Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry was organized at Camp Scott, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and mustered in October 19, 1861. The non-Veterans were ordered to Nashville, Tennessee, September 21. The Veterans and Recruits were transferred to the 21st Wisconsin Infantry. The regiment was mustered out October 13, 1864. [1]
