FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.


We are here to serve Lansing and the surrounding area. Our staff is made up of volunteers interested in genealogy and in assisting patrons in their research process.

The FamilySearch Center is in the church building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located approximately one block east of Abbott Road on the north side of the road. The entrance is at the back of the building and there is plenty of free parking.

  • Tuesday: 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
  • Saturday: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

   If weather conditions are questionable (snow, ice, etc.) please call during regular hours to see if we are open.

Holiday Schedule

  • New Years Day and possibly the days following.
  • Church General Conference - usually the first Saturday in April.
  • Memorial Day Weekend.
  • July 4th and possibly the days following.
  • Labor Day weekend.
  • Thanksgiving and the following Saturday.
  • Christmas - closed for two weeks.

   Please call during regular hours to confirm all dates.
