Land Cadaster and Index[edit | edit source]
Land Cadster and index records (Cadastre de Marie-Therese 1766) are land recors that assist in determining the names of houses or farms. In Luxembourg, many people used house or farm names as well as surnames. Using these records with the 1766 census you can determine surname changes and house names, and as an index to the 1766 census. The records may include names of property owners and residents, index of names, description of the property. The records can be located at the National archives.
