Description of the Library System[edit | edit source]

The A.B.B.E. Regional Library System (The Aiken-Bamberg-Barnwell-Edgefield Regional Library System) is head-quatered in Aiken in the basement of the Aiken County Library. There are 14 branches and a bookmobile associated with the system, consisting of both large and small libraries. Each library has its own hours and directors. The ABBE Regional office acts as a central ordering facility for all branches. Branches in the ABBE Regional Library System include:

Aiken County

Bamberg County

Barnwell County

Edgefield County

Digital Library: The ABBE Regional Library System has a digital collection that can be checked out by library card holders. Digital items can be checked out from the Regional Library. The offerings there include biographies and historical items.

E-News: The ABBE Regional Library System publishes an online newsletter. You can subscribe to the newsletter and select the information you want to receive.

Since the ABBE Regional Library System is an umbrella organization for the libraries of the four counties it serves, your library needs will be met at the branches in the system. This regional office is a place where ordering and distribution of materials takes place.
