Visits are strictly by appointment only. The archival holdings consist chiefly of the Council Minutes, and related records, of the 4 Townships that were amalgamated to form Dún Laoghaire Corporation – Blackrock, Dalkey, Killiney and Kingstown/Dún Laoghaire. They are chiefly bound volumes with handwritten entries. The section is also responsible for documents relating to Marlay Park, Cabinteely House and Fernhill, and the former Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company. Only catalogued material is publicly accessible.

The largest and most comprehensive collection we hold is our series of burial registers. The information contained within the burial registers varies depending on the period in which they were produced. They will always record the name of the person interred, their address, age, date of burial and grave number. They may also hold information such as date of death, cause of death and place of death.
