Brief History
This Unit was organized at Fort Wayne, Indiana, and mustered in September 10, 1862. It marched to Washington, D. C., via Richmond, Virginia, April 29-May 20 and Grand Review May 24. They mustered out July 8, 1865. The Recruits transferred to 48th Indiana Infantry.[1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin
