Each month we will focus on addressing the issues you face as you fulfill your calling to “creating experiences during which individuals can learn something meaningful about their family story” (Church Handbook under Family History Calling).

We want to tailor these training classes to the specific needs of the Stake and Ward consultants in our area, so we will have a short questionnaire at the end of the class where you will be able to tell us what you want to learn in these training classes.

The same training class will be offered in the morning at 11:00am and again at 6:30pm. You need to register for each session on our website at www.sacfamilysearchlibrary.org.

Our first class, on January 6, 2021, “Bird By Bird” focused on helping our members work on their Family History without feeling guilty about what they haven’t been able to do and strategies Ward and Stake consultants can use to motivate and encourage members.  We also covered the “Help” section on FamilySearch.org website. Our second class was on February 3, 2021, "Hosting Zoom Meetings". Using Zoom to assist people working on their Family History. Instructor: Chuck Athey

General Information

Info: Please select your class of interest by clicking on the following registration link for that class. You can also search for classes by selecting Classes by Topic or reviewing the Calendar of future classes.

Unless otherwise noted, the same training class will be offered in the morning at 11:00am and again at 7:00pm. On a rare occasion, our class times and dates may change before or after posted. You need to register for any session that you want attend.

We will continue to offer classes online using Zoom technology. Zoom is an online communication tool that allows us to provide classes for you wherever you are in the world. An account is not required to use this service. For help with Zoom, select one of the following links:

After registering for the class, you will receive a zoom confirmation email with a link to join the class. On the day of the registered class, please click on the zoom link and be ready 5 minutes before your scheduled class. Also, please meet any requested prerequisites.
