How to Find Thai Ancestors? (English)
The genealogical records of Thailand will help make descendants aware of who their ancestors were and where they came from! These records are valuable and should be preserved for the purpose of the researching of their genealogy. The records of the Thai deceased people are stored in the following sources:
- Death certificates, birth certificates, marriage records, house registrations, etc. stored in Government agencies.
- Records made and kept by individual families.
- Recorded in the books, found in libraries such as; Public Library, University Library
- Public encyclopedias such as Wikipedia or to search in the search engines of Google
- Family Tree database Find
- Research Wiki Thailand Genealogy
In regard to records that people can use to research their ancestors in section 3 and 4 (from above), most of these are records of the lineage of leaders in Thailand or the Thai famous people in the past. Nonetheless, those ancestors might be the early genesis of some surnames in Thailand.
