History

Petsworth (earlier known as Petsoe[1]) Parish has served Gloucester County, Virginia. The parish church was called Poplar Spring Church.[2] 

Founded

  • abt 1652[3]
  • The first actual reference to Petsoe Parish is found in a land grant to William Thornton dated 16 February 1665/6.[4]
