Now that the Norway parish pages have infoboxes, we need to start populating them with information. This project will be adding information to the infoboxes. This information will be helpful to researchers looking for what different jurisdictions their ancestors' records will be in.
We have created a standard of headings/categories of information that need to be on each Civil Registration page in the Wiki. We need to re-organize the content on the current civil registration pages into the categories from the '''[[User:World Survey - Civil Registration/Vital Records Template|template]]'''.

1. Sign up for one of the countries from the Task List. Go to that country's Civil Registration (or equivalent) page.

2. Click on the red link in that country's row on the task list to create the page. This will be the '''sandbox'''. In the respective sandbox page, insert all of the headings from the '''[[User:World Survey - Civil Registration/Vital Records Template|template]]'''.

3. Copy all of the code of the country's civil registration page and paste it into the same sandbox.

=== Step 2 - Rearrange the Information ===
2. Open the '''[https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XR76PDPSDbt8ilt6NrJQP77F9kS5bJ2bqF2_VMex3PM/edit?usp=sharing Google Sheet]'''.  This sheet will house all of the information that will go in your parishes' infoboxes.<br>
<br>
<br>
3. Go to the parishes in your respective Task List sign up section. (These can be accessed by going to the Parish list on the County page)
4. Analyze all of the content from the country's civil registration page, and sort the content into the respective template heading it should go under (all this should be happening in your sandbox). - Each template heading has a description of the kind of content that should go under it.
<br>
*Example: in the [[Argentina Civil Registration|Argentina Civil Registration]] page, the content under the heading "Time Coverage" would be placed under the template heading "Coverage and Compliance". Its content matches the category of content that should be found under that particular heading of the template.
<br>
*'''NOTE: DO NOT EDIT/DELETE ANY OF THE CONTENT YOU COPY FROM THE CIVIL REGISTRATION PAGE.''' We are simply to reorganize the information, not compromise.
4. Go to the page of first parish in your list of parishes from the Task List.<br>
<br><br>
<br>
5. As you reorganize the information to fit under respective template headings in your sandbox, keep all the content with whatever heading it comes with from the civil registration page, making it one sub-heading size smaller than the Template heading.
5. Click "Edit Source" to edit the page.<br>
*''Example:'' in the [[Argentina Civil Registration|Argentina Civil Registration]] page, all of the content under the heading "Locating Civil Registration Records", including the heading itself and all of its sub-headings and their content, would be copied and pasted under the template heading "How to Find the Records".
<br>
6. Locate the Infobox template.<br>
*HINT: The code looks like this:<br>
<nowiki>{{Infobox Norwegian Parishes</nowiki>
<nowiki></nowiki>
<nowiki>| title = PARISH NAME Parish</nowiki>
<nowiki></nowiki>
<nowiki>| Stift/Bispedømme/Diocese = add here</nowiki>
<nowiki></nowiki>
<nowiki>| Prosti = add here</nowiki>
<nowiki></nowiki>
<nowiki>| Len 1599-1660 = add here</nowiki>

<nowiki>| Fogderi = add here</nowiki>
<nowiki></nowiki>
<nowiki>| Sorenskriveri = add here</nowiki>
<nowiki></nowiki>
<nowiki>| Skipreide = add here</nowiki>
<nowiki></nowiki>
<nowiki>}}</nowiki>

7. '''Copy and paste''' every piece of information for your respective parish from the '''[https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XR76PDPSDbt8ilt6NrJQP77F9kS5bJ2bqF2_VMex3PM/edit?usp=sharing Google Sheet]''' into the respective boxes in the Infobox.
==Code==
*Example: The parish Asker in the county of Akershus, according to the Google Sheet, says the information for the Fogderi is "Aker og Follo". You would, then, '''Copy and paste''' the text from that cell in the Google sheet, and paste it into the Fogderi section (replacing the "add here") of the infobox code so it would look like this:<br>
The following are the headings that need to go in each sandbox page. You will sort the content from the civil registration page into these headings.<br><br>
<nowiki>| Fogderi = Aker og Follo</nowiki>
<br><Br>
8. NOTE: On the '''[https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XR76PDPSDbt8ilt6NrJQP77F9kS5bJ2bqF2_VMex3PM/edit?usp=sharing Google Sheet]''', there are different sheets in this file for the different counties. These can be accessed by looking at the tabs on the very bottom of the Google Sheet and finding the tab that has the same title as your County from the Task List.

Standardizing Civil Registration Pages

Purpose

We have created a standard of headings/categories of information that need to be on each Civil Registration page in the Wiki. We need to re-organize the content on the current civil registration pages into the categories from the template.

Instructions

Step 1 - Use a Sandbox

1. Sign up for one of the countries from the Task List. Go to that country's Civil Registration (or equivalent) page.

2. Click on the red link in that country's row on the task list to create the page. This will be the sandbox. In the respective sandbox page, insert all of the headings from the template.

3. Copy all of the code of the country's civil registration page and paste it into the same sandbox.

Step 2 - Rearrange the Information

4. Analyze all of the content from the country's civil registration page, and sort the content into the respective template heading it should go under (all this should be happening in your sandbox). - Each template heading has a description of the kind of content that should go under it.

  • Example: in the Argentina Civil Registration page, the content under the heading "Time Coverage" would be placed under the template heading "Coverage and Compliance". Its content matches the category of content that should be found under that particular heading of the template.
  • NOTE: DO NOT EDIT/DELETE ANY OF THE CONTENT YOU COPY FROM THE CIVIL REGISTRATION PAGE. We are simply to reorganize the information, not compromise.

5. As you reorganize the information to fit under respective template headings in your sandbox, keep all the content with whatever heading it comes with from the civil registration page, making it one sub-heading size smaller than the Template heading.

  • Example: in the Argentina Civil Registration page, all of the content under the heading "Locating Civil Registration Records", including the heading itself and all of its sub-headings and their content, would be copied and pasted under the template heading "How to Find the Records".

Code

The following are the headings that need to go in each sandbox page. You will sort the content from the civil registration page into these headings.
