Fill in the requested information in the initial search page. This search will return a list of possible matches. Compare the information about the ancestors in the list to what you already know about your ancestors to determine if this is the correct family or person. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to find your ancestor.
=== How Do I Analyze the Results? ===
Compare each result from your search with what you know to determine if there is a match. This may require viewing multiple records or images. Keep track of your research in a [[Use_Appropriate_Forms#Prepare_a_Research_Log | research log]].

=== I Can’t Find the Person I’m Looking For, What Now? ===
*Use the age at marriage or death to estimate a birth date.
*If your ancestor does not have a common name, collect entries for every person who has the same surname. This can help you find possible relatives
*When looking for a person who had a common name, look at all the entries for the name before deciding which is correct.
*Search the records of nearby areas
*Be aware that, as with any index, transcription errors may occur.
*Check for other names. An individual might appear under an unexpected name for a variety of reasons:
*Check for variant spellings of the names.

*Search the records of nearby localities.
