Question 1[edit | edit source]

Question 1: In the waypoint Potenza > Ruoti > Nati 1903-1910; Pubblicazioni 1866-1910; Matrimoni 1866-1910; Morti 1866-1892, the death years 1879-1880 are missing. Are they available?
Answer 1: The death records for 1879-1880 are missing online starting with image 2729 of 3230.

Question 2: Are there some pages missing for 1869 in the waypoint Potenza >Calvello > Nati 1866-1883?
Answer 2: Potenza > Calvello > Nati 1866-1883 is missing the pages that include the period Jan-Sep 1869 (Record Nos. 1-178). On Image 345 of 1505, there is a note that translates as follows: “The present register is a supplemental register to the birth acts of the Comune of Calvello in the same year . . . “. In addition, Image 339 of 1505 is the start of a second supplemental volume of births for 1869. Civil registrations in Italy are always kept in duplicate copy – one copy stays at the Comune level, and the other copy is transmitted to the Tribunale level or courthouse, later to be sent to the State Archive. You can try to contact the Comune of Calvello to see whether they have a copy of the original birth registers for 1869.

Question 3: The waypoint Potenza > Baragiano > Nati 1866-1910 Pubblicazioni 1866-1910 Matrimoni 1866-1910 does not include Nati 1866-1910. Where can I see these records?
Answer 3: Until the Nati 1866-1910 records are placed online, you will view film 1964930 at the FamilySearch Library or some FamilySearch Centers.
