• CHARLES' Tip of Week:
  • problem - you come across links in a table that don't work
  • solution
    • check the wikitext code for align="left" (It will follow the Beginning {| tag.)
    • if it is there, delete it. Then the links should work.

• GUISEPPE:
  • GenForum is closing 30 September; it will be archived for read only
    • If ancestry doesn't change URLs OK.
    • If we have links to GenForum as a place to post queries we will need to clean these up. Are you aware of these situations? Perhaps a little clean up project is in order.

• GUISEPPE:
  • asked what is the difference between the meanings of "Baptism" and" Christening?" (for translation purposes) - He received many responses.

• CHARLES':
  • Charles' sidebar many comments were posted, especially by WILMA, GIUSEPPE, DANIELLE
  • DAVID SMITH posted how it looks on the new wiki

• CHARLES'
  • He is playing with the new Wiki format in the Beta site
    • Missouri state page

• WILMA
  • posted mockup county page for the new format and asked for comments

• LINDA
  • noted that facebook has several genealogical pages of European Countries that are monitored by FamilySearch
    • no one is looking to see if the facebook pages have something to add to Wiki and visa-verse; BETSEYLEE BROWNING said she is not aware of anyone coordinating this
    • GIUSEPPIE and LINDA think this is an opportunity to create projects, long and short term
    • GIUSEPPIE thinks we should establish contact with those communites
  • for the next two weeks there is a need for someone to share something new on the facebook pages of Czechoslovakia, Poland, Switzerland, Germany/Prussia, Russia, France, Netherlands, Italy, Ukraine, Austria

"waypointing" is a process of grouping images by locality, record type, and year range in preparation for publishing. It allows publishing of many images that will not be indexed in the near future. There are 21 Wiki pages with category "WikiProject Waypointing"

Kudos: Jim Landucci and Charles for working in beta. Judy for posting yammer highlights

Business: Wide wiki is out

Guest Speaker: Dorothy Horan - Historical Records & written pages of Known Issues.

Dorothy went over the process of a record being looked at by FamilySearch, deciding if it should be published, indexed, etc... and the steps it takes before it is available to the public. This process takes time. There are also ROC (ROX) missionaries who work from home auditing parts of Family Tree.

Legacy items sometimes appear in some collections, but the group was disbanded. Dorothy's group now consists of 11 people, (PT employee, a temp, interns and missionaries)
