Brief History[edit | edit source]
This regiment was organized at Easton September, 1862 and mustered out July 24, 1863.[1]
Major engagements included the Battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia from May 1-5, 1863 and the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania from July 1-3, 1863. The regimental band was led by Joseph Eugene Walter, a former cornetist from Pomp's Cornet Band in Easton, Pennsylvania who had served previously as a member of the Regimental Band of the 47th Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry.[2]
