Henderson’s city and business directories date back to 1885. The Family History Library has copies of some records of these archives and they have recently come online and are available for free. The Family Search Center has available documents of the [https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1916143Saskatchewan Provincial Archives dated between 1879-1987].   • Directories were published to help government agencies, businesses, churches and schools track people in a community.
  • People who had jobs outside the home, who were over the age of 18 years along with their occupation, place of residence and home ownership were listed from the earliest directories.
  • During the wars it was often noted if individuals were on active service.
  • After WW II women who stayed at home were added to the directory along with the name of their spouse. At this time they also listed the name of the deceased spouse of a widow for a few years.
