Moderators perform an extremely valuable service for the Research Wiki community. They are a guide and a help to Wiki contributors, and they help to ensure that the Wiki's policies are followed. Since Moderators are an integral part of the Wiki Dispute system, it is important that they are consistently involved in monitoring the operation of their particular jurisdiction.
 
Once appointed, Moderators are also expected to abide by the following:

== Annual Participation ==
 
Moderator service is reviewed annually to update status and personal information. Moderators will be asked to indicate whether or not they wish to continue in their moderator role. Failure to respond to communication posted to the Moderator's User Talk page during the year will result in the Moderator's service being terminated.
