The 37th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry was organized under Col. Chas D. Ilanson, in the summer of 1863, and Companies A - C were mustered into the United States service at Glasgow, Kentucky September 17th 1863. Companies D – G mustered in October 24th 1863 also at Glasgow. Companies H – K were mustered in by December 29th, 1863. The regiment was mustered out December 29th, 1864, at Louisville, Kentucky, the enlisted men being transferred to the 55th, Kentucky Infantry.[1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]

The records for this Regiment's Companies are from the book, Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Kentucky, Vol. 1-1861-1866.[3]

Company A - Many men mustered in from Glasgow, Barren County.                                             Company B - Many men mustered in from Glasgow, Barren County.
Company C - Many men mustered in from Glasgow, Barren County.
Company D - Many men mustered in from Glasgow, Barren County.
Company E - Many men mustered in from Glasgow, Barren County.
