REIGHTON, a parish, in the union of Bridlington,wapentake of Dickering, E. riding of York, 3 miles(E. S. E.) from Hunmanby; containing 224 inhabitants.The parish comprises by admeasurement 2700 acres,and is situated on the road from Hull to Scarborough,and bounded on the east by Filey bay. There are several good limestone-quarries. The living is a discharged vicarage, valued in the king's books at £9. 10., net income, £177; patron, and impropriator, Sir George Strickland, Bart.
