:Hereford Museum and Art Gallery is housed in a spectacular Victorian gothic building. The museum has been exhibiting artefacts and works of fine and decorative art connected with the local area since 1874. Although the exterior of the building has changed very little, the museum and gallery have kept up with the times. Today the museum is full of interesting local history with interactive elements for all the family. Exhibits highlight Herefordshire's local culture, its heritage in farming and production, the natural environment and its special place as a border county. Come and find out how life has changed here over the centuries.

:The Black and White House is a remarkably well preserved example of a 17th Century timber-framed building and is situated in the heart of Hereford. Built in 1621, the house has been used for many purposes over the years, starting life as a butcher's home and shop and finishing its commercial life in the hands of Lloyds Bank in the late 1920s. Since 1929 it has been a fascinating museum giving an insight into daily life in Jacobean times. It is furnished in period style with an internationally important collection of English oak furniture.

==Civil Registration Offices==
[[Category:Herefordshire|Archives and Libraries]]
The [https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ '''General Register Office'''] holds a central copy of all birth, marriage, and death registrations in England. These certificates can be ordered from their [https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ '''website'''] (a login is required but it is free to register and search). However, in some cases research can be more efficient working with the smaller, more specific records collections of county/district registry offices.
----
Sometimes research might be required to determine where a town or parish was in a former registration district, or even its current district.  For a list of the '''historic and current registration districts and their parishes''', see [https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/HEF.html UKBMD: Registration Districts in Herefordshire].
