Brief History[edit | edit source]
The 99th Regiment, New York Infantry was organized at New York City under authority of War Department as Naval Brigade, to be provided with Gunboats to cruise along Atlantic coast, May 28, 1861. The regiment mustered out at Salisbury, N. C., July 15, 1865.[1]
