Tahrir - The Ottoman Turks conducted extensive surveys of land and population for tax purposes from 1835-1870. Some of the early surveys listed only the number of household members with no names.

Tahrir - These land and property records likely cover less than 10% of the total population. Women and children are generally not listed and remote localities may not be surveyed.
