Brief History[edit | edit source]
The 29th Regiment, Missouri Infantry (Union) was organized at Benton Barracks, Mo., and St. Louis, Mo., July to October, 1862. They were last assigned to the 1st Brigade, 1st Division, 15th Army Corps, to November, 1864. Then they were unattached, 15th Army Corps, to June, 1865.[1]
Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
