Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived, though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. If you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
Companies and general counties of enlistment:
- Company A - men from Floyd, Crawford, Washington, Clark and Harrison Counties
- Company B - men from Clark County
- Company C - men from Floyd and Clark Counties
- Company D - no cities or counties given
- Company E - men from Harrison County
- Company F - no cities or counties given
- Company G - men from Perry County
- Company H - men from Crawford County
- Company I - no cities or counties given
- Company K - men from Perry and Harrison Counties
