For a time it served in the Department of the Indian Territory, then was assigned to D.H. Cooper's and Watie's Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. The unit was active in the engagements at Elkhorn Tavern, Old Fort Wayne, Prairie Grove, Elk Creek, and Mazzard Prairie. About 200 officers and men saw action at Cabin Creek in September, 1864, then surrendered on June 23, 1865. Its commanders were Colonels James M. Bell and Stand Watie; Lieutenant Colonels Robert C. Parks, Thomas F. Taylor, Joseph F. Thompson, and Clem N. Vann; and Majors E.C. Bondinot and E.J. Howland.

1st Choctaw Cavalry War [also called 2nd Choctaw Regiment] was organized during the summer of 1862. Formerly Battice's 1st Choctaw Cavalry Battalion which in May contained 216 effectives. Assigned to the Department of the Indian Territory, the unit skirmished and raided the Federals. Later it lost 4 killed and 4 wounded at Poison Spring and surrendered in June, 1865. Colonel Simpson N. Folsom was in command.

The 2nd Engineers Regiment was assembled during the summer of 1863 with men from almost every Confederate state east of the Mississippi River. This regiment did not serve as one command. Companies A and E were stationed at Fort Fisher, North Carolina; Companies B, F, and I were at Fort Gaines and Morgan, Alabama; Company D was at Fort McAllister, Georgia; and Companies C, G, H, and K were with the forces in Virginia. These four companies, for the most part, served under Colonel T. M. R. Talcott of the 1st Engineers Regiment. The companies surrendered with the army or department in which they served, and those with the Army of Northern Virginia totalled 97 officers and men. Major D. Wintter was in command.

The 15th Cavalry Regiment was organized at Mobile, Alabama, early in 1864 by consolidating the five-company 3rd Florida Cavalry Battalion and five Alabama independent cavalry companies. It served in Quarles', Reynold's, Page's, I. W. Patton's, Liddell's, R. McCulloch's, and H. Maury's command. The regiment remained in the Mobile and Pensacola area, then moved to Louisiana where it fought at Tunica. Returning to Mobile it guarded the approaches to the city. A detachment was captured in the fight at Claiborne on April 17, 1865, and the remaining force at Demopolis on April 30. Colonel Henry Maury, Lieutenant Colonel T. J. Myers, and Major Robert H. Partridge were its field officers.
