Over the centuries, Iran has been invaded by several nations, including Turks, Mongols, Ilkhans, the Timurids, Safavids, and Russians, so has a mixture of races.^[1]

Since July 1925, all Iranian citizens, in or out of the country, are required to have a birth certificate.^[2]
