| The 60th Infantry regiment was formed at Charleston, Tennessee, in November, 1863. Ten companies from the 1st and 3rd Battalions, Hilliard's Alabama Legion made up the unit. Its members were from the counties of Coosa, Montgomery, Chambers, Lowndes, Butler, Pike, and Henry.
