| The 2nd Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry was organized at Madison, Wisconsin, and was mustered in June 11, 1861. It mustered out at Madison, Wisconsin, July 2, 1864. The Battalion was consolidated with the 6th Wisconsin Infantry as Companies "G" and "H" on November 30, 1864.The 2nd Independent Battery, Wisconsin Light Artillery was organized at LaCrosse and was mustered in at Racine, Wisconsin, October 10, 1861.It was at Point Lookout, Maryland, January 20,1865.
