Add links to coverage tables, inventories, and digital lists to any applicable Historical Records collections Wiki page

Task List[edit | edit source]

Step One - Sign Up[edit | edit source]

  • Go to the task list and sign your name next to a Historical Records Wiki page.



  • Click on the link to open the Wiki page.



  • There are two ways to add a link to a Historical Records Collections Wiki page.



Part A - Individual Inventory Wiki Page[edit | edit source]

  • If the Wiki page you are working on has the word, "Inventory" in the title of the page, follow these instructions.



Step One - Copy the Title[edit | edit source]

  • Copy the title of the Wiki article you are working on.

Step Two - Open the HR Collection Wiki Page[edit | edit source]

  • Open the Historical Records Collection details page by going to the box at the top of the page and click on the link while holding the ctrl button. This will open a new tab.

Step Three - Click on Edit Source[edit | edit source]

  • Go to the tab that just opened for the Historical Records Collection details page and click on Edit source at the top of the page.



Step Four - Find Correct Line[edit | edit source]

  • Use ctrl + F and type in the following to locate the correct line to add the link.

  • Click Save Changes.


Step Six - Go back to the Task List[edit | edit source]

  • Go to the Task List and add the date next to your name.


  • Sign up for a new historical records collection page to work on: Task List.


Part B - Table on HR Collection Details Wiki Page[edit | edit source]

  • If the Wiki page you are working on is a Historical Records Collection details Wiki page, you will have to locate the link on this page (and DOES NOT have Inventory in the Wiki article title).



Step One - Review Contents[edit | edit source]

  • Review the Contents on the page and find the word, Inventory.



Step Two - Click on the Inventory Link[edit | edit source]

  • Click on the word, Inventory



Step Three - Copy URL[edit | edit source]

  • Highlight the last part of the Wiki URL in the Browser address field. Do not copy "familysearch.org/en/wiki/". Only what is after it.



Step Four - Click on Edit Source[edit | edit source]

  • Go back to the top of the Wiki page and click on Edit source to edit the whole page.
