Brief History[edit | edit source]
The 195th Regiment, Ohio Infantry was organized at Camp Chase, Ohio, and mustered in March 14 to March 20, 1865. They were ordered to Alexandria, Virginia, April 28 and had provost duty there till December. They were mustered out December 18, 1865.[1]
Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
