Collection Description[edit | edit source]One of the best book collections in America, including county histories, and farmers registers. Think of it as another archives for Illinois.[2] The Illinois History and Lincoln Collections consist of 32,500 volumes, 2,500 cubic feet of manuscripts, and a large number of maps, broadsides, prints, and photographs.[3] Other UIUC Library collections include newspapers, Illinois county histories, local histories, city directories, biographies, family histories, published vital records, military records such as regimental histories, maps, gazetteers, international genealogy, and Internet sites.[4] Alternate Repositories[edit | edit source]If you cannot visit or find a source at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Main Library, a similar source may be available at one of the following.
