Calendar and Events[edit | edit source]

Upcoming Events[edit | edit source]

Class Schedule[edit | edit source]

We do accept groups to learn about the center and to be taught how to use the computers and the programs available and how to resolve issues. Please call at least two weeks in advance. Make sure all those planning to come have a FamilySearch account and if a youth group that their leader has all the information for those accounts (user name and password).

Staff Training Meetings[edit | edit source]

Center Resources[edit | edit source]

We are able to provide a computer to schedule a temple appointment and a computer to find names you have reserved to print and then print them.

Collections[edit | edit source]

We have no books or scanned sources.

Databases and Software[edit | edit source]

We have all the "premium" programs found in FamilySearch Center Portal.

  • FamilySearch Center Portal This center has access to the FamilySearch Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charged for subscriptions. There are twelve of them!

Hardware and Equipment[edit | edit source]

We have 8 computers and one black and white printer which also scans to FamilySearch. You can bring your own laptop in and connect with Wifi. You would not be able to connect to the printer however.

Staff[edit | edit source]

We have volunteers who not only can teach but assist with difficulties you might be having and helping to resolve problems with programs, accounts and research issues.

**There is no place for children to play while parents are working on the computers. We are not able to scan and print cards from QR on telephones. We are able to do so on computers. We can also help create appointments for the Las Vegas Temple.

Center Services[edit | edit source]

Some on line sources say we have a distribution center attached but we do not. There is one at 5750 Centennial Blvd inside Deseret Book. There is no visitor center at the FamilySearch Center nor on the Temple Grounds.

Staff Research Specialties[edit | edit source]

We have a few Spanish speaking workers .

Resources in the Local Area[edit | edit source]

The downtown (9th and Clark) FamilySearch Library has much more equipment, programs, books etc. if needed.

Links[edit | edit source]

  • Using the FamilySearch Research Wiki: A comprehensive video presentation explaining the Wiki, navigating it, and some especially useful pages. Case studies demonstrate using the Wiki for genealogical research. Editing and adding articles to the Wiki are covered.

Volunteer at the Center[edit | edit source]

We are open to other volunteers. Feel free to let us know of your interests and skills.
