Mining Records[edit | edit source]
Early mining records were maintained by mining districts. These records later came under the jurisdiction of the county offices. These records include mining claims, mining locations, assessments, and so forth. The FamilySearch Library does not have copies of these records.
The records of mining companies often include pay rolls, lists of customers, and other information. The Nevada Historical Societyhas an extensive collection of mining company records.
The Nevada Historical Society also has a mining accident file. This file lists the names of miners killed in Nevada mining accidents prior to 1900.
The Nevada State Library and Archives also has a large collection of mining records.
