Several maintenance template flags are ready for use in the Wiki. There are three things to be aware of for each maintenance template flag:

1. Monitor the usage of each flag by viewing the category page for each template. Click here to review the categorized maintenance reports.
2. Use the Talk page for ongoing discussion about the use of the flag.
3. Documentation for each template is on every Template and Category page.

After replacing all instances with the preferred file, the others should be deleted. Admins: Follow the directions on Deletion guidelines for administrators. Do not delete this page until all uses have been replaced!. Only use for files that are exact duplicates!

{{Description missing}} Category:Images lacking a description	This media has no description, and may be lacking other information. Media should have a summary to inform others of the content, author, source, and date if possible. If you know or have access to such information, please add it to the image page. Notify the uploader with: {{subst:add-desc-I|1={{PAGENAME}}}}
{{Disputed source}} Category:Media with disputed source	It is disputed whether the source information is correct. In some cases this may be because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the given source is correct. Please see the file's talk page or the edit summary of the edit which added this tag for further information.
{{Duplicate}} Category:Duplicate	This file is an exact duplicate or scaled-down version of [[:File:{{{1}}}]]. There should be no exact copies of an image. After replacing all instances with the preferred file, the others should be deleted. Admins: Follow the directions on Deletion guidelines for administrators. {{No license}} Category:Media missing license	This media file does not have sufficient information on its copyright status. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will have to be deleted. If you have created this file yourself, you can choose to license the work under one of the allowed licenses. If you did not create it, you must usually ask the copyright holder for permission to release it under one of the allowed licenses, and the written permission (or a link to it) must also be provided on this page.
{{No permission}} Category:Media missing permission	This file is missing evidence of permission. There is no proof that the author of the file agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide evidence of permission by either providing a link to a site with an explicit grant of permission that complies with the licensing policy or by transcribing on the description page the communication granting permission. This also applies if you are the author yourself.
{{No source}} Category:Media missing permission	This file is missing essential source information. The author and source of the file must be given, so that others can verify the copyright status. If the uploader is the author, this should be stated explicitly. (e.g. "Created by uploader", "Self-made", "Own work", etc.) Otherwise, please include a web link or a complete citation if possible. Note: Things like "Transferred from Wikipedia", especially without a link, is not considered a valid source. The primary source should be provided.
{{Rename media}} Category:Files requiring renaming	The name of this media object is misspelled, incomplete, misleading, cryptic, does not conform to an established naming convention, or has a name which is largely duplicative to another name It has been suggested that this media object be renamed. Click for further information about when to rename. This request will be dealt with by an administrator or filemover. These are templates used to label a page as a specific type, but don't mean that maintenance needs to be done to the page.

Maintenance Flag Monitoring

For a quick way to monitor the category pages for each template, simply copy and paste the following text onto your own user page:

• Category:Deletion Requests - immediate action is needed
• Category:Outdated articles - flag remains until fixed
• Category:Neutrality disputes - two week requirement
• Category:Copyright problems - one week requirement
• Category:Ambiguous page title - flag remains until fixed
• Category:Merge articles - flag remains until fixed
• Category:Articles needing citations - discussion needed before implementation
